PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

Members are involved in every aspect of running Crossroads Clubhouse. They greet visitors and give tours, plan and prepare meals, do data entry, clean and maintain our building, and organise our fundraising efforts. Members also serve on our Advisory Board and are involved in administration.

The assumption that Crossroads Clubhouse belong to and is run by members (who work alongside a small but dedicated staff) is unique. It is a powerful motivator that leads inexorably to pride in the clubhouse and to recovery for members.

Opportunities are plentiful at Crossroads Clubhouse. For many members active engagement in the work of the clubhouse leads to a sense of purposefulness and achievement. Crossroads Clubhouse is a real community that genuinely needs the interests and talents of its membership. Meaningful work in one of the work units of Crossroads Clubhouse sustains the clubhouse and serves as a catalyst for satisfying personal relationships.


The work of running the Crossroads Clubhouse is divided into three main work units:

1.  Employment Unit

2.  Communications Unit

3.  Food Services Unit

Employment Unit
 
The Employment Unit  is responsible for coordinating the employment and education programs, compiling statistics for evaluation, developing opportunities with businesses, employment dinner, employment outreach, job profiling and job club.

Communications Unit

The Communications Unit is responsiblefor the welcoming atmosphere of the Clubhouse. It is a diverse work area that includes the management of the reception and locker area, managing the membership database, compiling statitics for evaluation, coordination tours and orientation of new members, general administration duties, newsletter production, community outreach. 


Food Unit

The Food Unit  is responsible for providing meals and refreshments to the membership. Specific duties include meal planning, buying, preparing and serving food, cash tallying as well as clean up and maintenance of the café. The Unit is also responsible for coordinating the food at Clubhouse events, such as the Employment and Education Dinners.
